[MYO] Soleil'y'or

His name is French! Quite simply put, it's sun (soleil) and gold (or) smashed together. Why French? It sounded better.

I was so afraid of not being able to submit this in time that at six o'clock this morning I woke up and I knew that I wouldn't be able to close my eyes until it was finished. By nine, I was done, but the whole thing took me about eight hours (without the breaks) to complete (squeezed in two days). I can now return to have a life, and I will come back later to add the needed shadows and lighting to this.

Preferred weapons: A hammer (named Grond) (wink wink for those that get the reference) and a shield.

His modified legs are actually made to absorb the recoil of his hits so that his internal structure doesn't get damaged by the power he packs: without them, he would crumble from the inside during intense fights. He was primarily designed to deal with large monsters that had instant regeneration: he does not cut limbs and so they cannot grow back but remain useless for the rest of the fight, until he managed to smash the skull. He isn't the fastest, but he usually is the one that deals the fatal blow when faced with larger opponents.

Soleil'y'or was first created to protect a small village up in the mountains, with a rather limited amount of people living in it. The project was a big one, as he was designed to watch over the children that were going to school every day in the valley though a two-hour walk: his height (10 feet) and his bulk were originally meant to intimidate any mutant that might try to get a go at the children.

He was never to know the kids he was being programmed to protect.

A virus infected the water of his village and killed all the inhabitants within days; in a sense, he was the sole survivor, at this stage nothing more than a nearly complete machine waiting for the funds to make his exterior and an esquisse of a personality stored on a hard disk. The team that arrived with the vaccine for the virus came too late but did take him back and a relative to someone in the village was entrusted in finishing this unnamed Android.

That person gave Soleil a very different purpose: he was birthed with the mission to go out and fight mutants as a hero, strong and confident. However, deep inside, he still feels that something is missing from his life, something that he was meant to do but he never did without being able to put a finger on it: he was never told his primairy prupose.



Because of his mission, Soleil'y'or was programmed with a confident and flamboyant personality, so he could say to people without an ounce of doubt that he would succeed in bringing down whatever monster he was going to face on his next mission. He is like the sun he is named after: he shines bright, without caring about who he hurts and who he pleases.

Or at least on the outside he does, and it was true until the AI blackout where traces of his old programming started to come back up.
 
He does care about people and feelings, but it is always in the aftermath, when things are quiet and the traces of his first programming kicks in. When it is calm and he is alone, he likes to read and sew. For some reason he doesn't understand, he always ends up making children-sized clothes that he can't get himself to throw away even if he feels unexplainebly sad when looking at them. He seldomly opens to others, because he believes that they will loose confidence in him if they see him getting weak.

One thing is certain: his weak point is definitely anything cute and small. He may frown and grumble at them at first, but he cannot refuse them anything and will quickly be found watching over them, if only from afar. Eventually, he will start acting as a big brother even with his fellow Wrong Gods, some of which could be older and with more battle experience than him.

Edit 1: added the shadows! Changed his skin colour to his actual dark to make his tattoos come out, and added details.

Edit 2: His personality is done! I'll still have to do a few minor adjustements, probably, and there are still some details I want to add (I have the impression that I am never done polishing him) but this should be pretty much set in stone by now.
